Train your bot

A bot answers only from the knowledge you give it. That's what keeps its answers about your business correct.

Add knowledge

Open Train on your bot (or Ingest documents) and choose how to add it:

- Upload files — PDF, Word, text and JSON files. - Paste text — quick notes, opening hours, a price list. - Web page — one address; the page's text is imported. - Whole website — use a [Website bot](/docs/website-bot).

Each item becomes a document. BotBazar cuts it into small passages (chunks) so the bot can find the right paragraph quickly.

Documents lists everything your bot has learned. Open a document to read, edit or re-summarise it, or view its chunks.

Tips for great answers

1. One topic per document works better than one giant file. 2. Headings help. "Visiting hours" as a heading beats a buried sentence. 3. Keep it current. Delete or edit outdated documents — old prices produce old answers. 4. Scanned PDFs (photos of pages) are read with text recognition; clean digital PDFs are more accurate. 5. For the questions customers ask most, add a [Q&A pair](/docs/qa-training) — it wins over anything else.

[!TIP] Test after every big upload: ask three questions you know the answer to. If one is wrong, open Documents and check the text was imported correctly.
